fern stitch Portmeirion bowl embroidery

I was inspired by Portmeirion accent bowl.

Portmeirion's signature pattern is embroidered with the fern stitch.

This is how to work the fern stitch.

The fern stitch is consist of three straight stitches, 

all worked into the same ending hole. 

It looks like a series of fly stitches.

This stitch, however, is different from that.
